TRANSIT ADVOCACY GROUP FOUNDER CRITICIZES LACK OF "BIG GAME" TRANSIT

Says VTA, SamTrans At Fault For Creating Automobile Gridlock
in Palo Alto

SUNNYVALE, CA (November 22, 2003) – Santa Clara VTA Riders Union 
(SCVTARU – http://www.vtaridersunion.org/) founder Eugene Bradley
gave an official statement today regarding the traffic gridlock 
nightmare California and Stanford football fans are experiencing 
at today's "Big Game" between the two universities in Palo Alto:

"The Valley Transportation Authority and SamTrans are clearly at 
fault in creating over 4,000 extra automobiles throughout the streets 
of Palo Alto and Stanford.  Had both agencies put aside the excuses 
and found the resources to provide express bus service directly to 
Stanford Stadium for the taxpayers' good, roads to and from the Big 
Game would not be gridlocked in the first place.  To that end, both
agencies need to apologize - jointly and immediately - to fans and 
alumni at both schools for failing to provide a decent alternative 
to gridlock."

Stanford "Cardinal" and California "Golden Bears" football fans 
outraged by the lack of transit service to the "Big Game" visit our

There, they will go to a web page where they can directly contact VTA 
and SamTrans management and express their outrage over the lack of 
transit and resulting gridlock at today's Big Game.
