Free DASH Downtown San Jose Shuttle Expands

August 8, 2005 (SCVTARU) - The Downtown Area Shuttle (DASH) route has changed to accommodate employees at the new City Hall. Rather than running straight down San Fernando Street from Diridon Station east to Fourth Street, the free shuttle now turns on Almaden Boulevard and proceeds east on Santa Clara Street. For complete route and shuttle stop information, scroll over the DASH icon on the parking map on http://www.sjdowntownparking.com

With the influx of city workers, DASH’s daily ridership should exceed the 2004 annual average of 828. The shuttles cycle the DASH route at least 22 times per day. Also, DASH will be in operation for at least another three years, under an agreement reached in June between the city and Downtown Association.

DASH runs Monday-Friday (except major holidays) about every five minutes 6:30-9:15 a.m. and every 10 minutes 9:15 a.m.-7 p.m.
