VTA Special Board Meeting
June 20, 2002
San Jose City Hall - Room 106

Robert Carvalho was at this special workshop, and developed this report.

I went, I spoke, I was overruled. It was the fastest VTA Board meeting ever, taking only 15 minutes. Agenda items 3-9 (various expenditures) were passed unanimously on the consent calendar. Agenda item 10, the more generic measure, was passed with only one minor modification and no discussion. Agenda item 10X, the one that says certain monies will only be used for non-mass-transit projects (i.e. roads), had one public speaker for (Carl Guardino) and one against (me). The board then made a minor wording change and passed it unanimously. Look for these on your November ballot. Then Gonzalez's proposal to make the VTA reps to BART be one from SJ and one from Milpitas forever was passed unanimously, with only a gratuitous statement for by the rep from Milpitas. --Robert

[Editor's Note: you can find the original text of the ballot measures on our website. We have called them Measure 1 and Measure 2 for your reference.]
