| Santa Clara VTA | Riders Union |
At the Santa Clara VTA Riders Union, we are using the web extensively to organize riders throughout Silicon Valley and even into Santa Cruz County. This philosophy has helped cut down drastically on numerous costs for an organization. The only costs truly incurred are that for operating the website, as well as distributing flyers and mailings to members without Internet access whenever necessary.
With that in mind, we only ask for two universal fees for those that want to get involved with us in improving mass transit in Silicon Valley:
YOUR TIME and YOUR VOICE.
All we ask is that you write letters, call, or email your local representatives about the poor quality of mass transit in Santa Clara County now, as well as what our elected officials need to do - NOW- to make mass transit a viable alternative to driving. Also, we ask that you attend the various VTA Board meetings and speak out on the various issues that affect your everyday transit use. (We'll tell you how on our mailing list and via this website.) After all, we have always believed that time is money, and the time you spend in helping to obtain a world-class mass transit system in Santa Clara County will be worth it. But only if you spend the time and speak out!
